An editorial journey exploring identity through an ecocentric lens. At its core, Alter eco examines how cultures worldwide respond to human needs in ways that shape both identity and connection with the living world. A constellation of stories that reimagine our bond with the Earth, shifting from dominance to interdependence.
Alter eco amplifies voices and perspectives often overlooked in dominant sustainability narratives. Far from offering ready-made solutions, it opens a space for reflection, an invitation to see the Earth not as a resource to exploit, but as a web of relationships to nurture, recognising that identity is not what separates us from nature, but what connects us to it.
Alter eco[teca] is a digital archive where ecocentric stories, practices, and visions intertwine: a transmedia extension of the print magazine, gathering its voices into a single, ever-evolving narrative ecosystem.
An experiential digital archive that rethinks the non-places of contemporary mobility. Mēnēm reframes anonymous journeys as acts of shared remembrance, weaving fragments of lived experience into a collective ecosystem where every movement becomes an opportunity for connection and meaning.
The project stems from a theoretical investigation into contemporary transit spaces, arriving at a central question: how can mobility spaces, commonly perceived as anonymous non-places, be transformed into places capable of generating meaning in everyday life and in relationships?
Accessible only during transit, the archive collects personal traces left by users – images, sounds, words, objects – transforming suspended in-between time into an opportunity to observe, remember, and give new significance to the spaces we move through.
An editorial experimentation that reintroduces friction as a critical condition of the present. Hostilia explores conflict as a generative force, exposing invisible pressures, accumulating tensions, and transforming the magazine itself into a space where resistance is both narrative and experience.
The first issue, Pressure, explores pressure as an invisible force acting on bodies, infrastructures, and systems. It unfolds through four progressive stages – Accumulation, Compression, Deformation, Breaking Point – making tangible how tension builds, intensifies, and eventually exceeds systemic thresholds.
The material dimension is inseparable from the concept: metal inserts, binder clips, debossing, and varied paper stocks transform the magazine into a perceptual apparatus, where weight, friction, and resistance become active elements, making pressure visible, physical, and immediate.
An exhibition that retraces the evolution of beauty from the classical ideals of ancient Greece to contemporary aesthetics. Through artworks and design, Mito/Serie explores the tension between myth and seriality, between the timeless, constructed, and subjective dimensions of beauty, revealing its enduring, ineffable nature.
Mito/Serie unfolds the tension between Myth and Series, between the classical ideal of Beauty, defined by balance, proportion, and perfection, and the processes of construction, replication, and seriality that inevitably underlie it. Once the objective canon collapses, giving way to subjectivity and extreme personalization, what form does the Unsustainable Ineffability of Beauty take today?
The installation unfolds through symmetry, curved forms, and concentric circular geometries, evoking the ripple of a drop of water, where the center marks the breaking of the myth. Classical and neoclassical sculptures are juxtaposed with iconic design objects across 27 works, guided by key terms that trace the narrative connections between them.
An immersive site-specific installation showcasing the Belvedere Torso, where presence and absence, space and myth converge. Through light, shadow, and architectural dialogue, the work evokes the ineffable beauty of an incomplete, immortal form, an enduring fragment that transcends time and invites contemplation.
The installation weaves together the epic narrative of Ajax, identified in the Belvedere Torso, with spatial strategies that make the pavilion an extension of the sculpture itself. Concealed from immediate view, the Torso embodies Ajax's shame and contemplation before his suicide. Material absences echo the sculpture's mutilation, extending the notion of missing parts to the architecture itself.
Built on a system of concentric octagons, the spatial composition leads visitors gradually toward the sculpture, enabling a 360° encounter with the hero at his moment of despair. Vertical and horizontal openings filter natural light into sharp, cascading highlights, heightening the theatricality of the experience, where architecture, light, and form converge into a contemplative space suspended between loss, beauty, and myth.
